  2. 02

Select the Name Tag you already own, then choose Name.

  3. 03

Type the name you want. Check the spelling and the pet before selecting Confirm.

  4. 04

Before you start

This guide is for players who already have a Name Tag. Choose the pet and decide on its name before opening the naming dialog. DanoNano’s October 4 demonstration begins beside a pet at the ranch, with the item ready to select.

Getting close to the right pet matters, especially in a crowded ranch. Check which pet you are looking at before choosing Name. Follow the controls displayed in your game; the video does not establish a keyboard shortcut or a separate sequence for each device.

Two confirmations, one item spent

The first dialog lets you enter a name and has Confirm and Cancel buttons. In the video, the player types a name, then chooses Confirm. That opens another dialog, so keep reading before clicking again.

The second dialog repeats the proposed name and says “This uses your Name Tag.” Its final Confirm completes the rename and consumes the item. Pause here to check the spelling and whether this is the pet you meant to name. If you do not want to proceed, choose Cancel.

Do not treat the first confirmation as the end of the process. The item-use warning is the final decision point. The demonstration shows a successful rename; it does not show a refund or an undo option afterward.

What the new name looks like

After the final confirmation, the demonstration shows the custom name above the pet’s species label, Kitsune. The species name remains visible. You can use that before-and-after view to check whether you completed the naming sequence.

This is a guide to using the consumable Name Tag item. Ordinary overhead names or ESP labels are a different topic. The clip shows a label change, so a new name should not be treated as evidence of a speed, rarity or income upgrade. For a different ranch task, see our egg hatching guide.

If you cannot finish the rename

  • If you cannot find Name, check that you are close to the intended pet at the ranch and have selected the Name Tag. These are the starting conditions shown in the clip.
  • If you see another confirmation after entering the name, read it. That is the item-use dialog shown in the demonstration, rather than proof that the first click failed.
  • If you are unsure about the pet or spelling, stop at the dialog and use Cancel. Do not confirm just to see what happens.

If your screen shows a different prompt or an error, follow its wording rather than guessing a key or repeatedly confirming. You can send a correction with the exact message and what step you reached. Avoid including private account details.

Follow the demonstrated sequence

The 16-second video above was published by DanoNano on October 4, 2026. It shows the ranch approach, Name action, name entry, second confirmation and changed label. Our steps describe that visible sequence; we have not tested it in the game ourselves.

Keep your final in-game prompt in view while using the item. This page covers that naming flow, rather than shop prices, restock times or instructions for other Name Tag variants. If you are still setting up your ranch, return to the beginner guide.
